I am a long-time resident of Orlando, FL and have been employed for 28 years as a Compliance Officer & Financial Operations Manager at a Florida-based financial planning and brokerage company. I learned my first line dance in 1994 when I reluctantly allowed my daughter to drag me off to a country bar one Saturday night. To my surprise, I loved it immediately! My only complaint was that I only learned three dances that night, and I had to spend the rest of the night sitting on a stool watching the fun. Since then, I have done my best to spend as little time as possible sitting on the sidelines! I have also been blessed to have met and become friends with some of the world's greatest people on the dance floor!
Around
that same time, I also started going to Guyton
Mundy's dance class in Orlando, FL and
found him to
be a very talented and gracious young man. He later
asked me to join him in teaching a new class
together. I was pleased and honored to do so and we
held the class at DanceOrlando in Longwood for over
a year and then for a few more months at Jesse Black's Saloon in Orlando.
Guyton is now teaching at great
events all over the world. In 2006, I ventured out on my own with
two classes a week in Altamonte Springs. These classes
are offered for beginners to advanced dancers. I look forward to going to dance events as often as possible to meet new and old friends, and to learn all the newest dances. Over the last two or three years, I have been invited to teach at some of those events and that has been a great pleasure for me. My family is composed of my daughter and son in law, and my two wonderful grandsons. My older grandson, Bradley has become a talented line dancer and is my most valued assistant at our monthly dance workshops and socials. Parker, who has just turned two, is our youngest and he is a perpetual motion machine!! I am so proud of, and grateful for all of my "kids"!! updated 11-02-2009 |
